Landan Kindness Fund

The Landan Kindness Fund was established in November 2023 in memory of our oldest son, Landan Farquharson, who tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident while riding his dirt bike just minutes from our home. The purpose of the Landan Kindness Fund is to carry forward his legacy and the many life lessons he exemplified. To know Landan was to love him. He made sure of it with his swagger, cheeky grin, and abundant confidence. Landan embodied leadership qualities, being kind, helpful, charismatic, determined, and hardworking. He never gave up until he perfected everything, whether it was a new soccer move, a part for his bikes, or his schoolwork. While Landan may be “forever 14,” we are committed to helping others in his honor and memory, as he did during his short life. Our boy had big plans and numerous achievements; his room was filled with medals and awards. Our goal with this fund is to provide opportunities in sports to others in his name. From an early age, Landan loved the outdoors, enjoying activities like fishing, creek jumping, frog catching, and sports. He started playing soccer at age 3, and his passion for the sport grew as he began playing competitively at 8 and regionally soon after. He excelled in almost every sport or track event he tried, but he was never one to brag. Often, he was seen helping his teammates improve, ensuring no one was left behind. Although highly competitive and hating to lose, Landan always supported his teammates. Our world and family were devastated by this tragedy and the loss of our shining star. However, our mission and vision for the Landan Kindness Fund bring us comfort and healing by keeping his values and spirit alive. Our mission is to ease the financial burden of sports for families and support other youth-focused charitable organizations, giving back in Landan’s name and honoring his kind, passionate spirit.
